Tom Grottke, Chief Executive Officer
Tom has over 30 years of professional experience assisting financial service companies large and small, working as the lead audit and senior manager on numerous projects for KPMG-Peat Marwick and Arthur Andersen.
Since the invention of the firm in 2002, Tom has been the leading advisor for nearly 100 banks, thrifts and credit unions. His expertise lies in the areas of consulting for community and regional banks in the area of strategy, merger integration, governance and organizational planning. In addition to this, he has experience working with a number of multi-bank holding companies, trust and insurance agencies. In his role as CEO of The NBS Group, he plays a key role in the following areas:
- personal advisor to CEO;
- strategic and business plan development;
- facilitating Board sessions or management meetings;
- development of technology plans;
- core systems vendor selection – including negotiating contracts and system implementation; and
- bank mergers.
Tom is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, played hockey and earned a BS in Accounting. He is currently a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a frequent speaker for local and regional banking associations and universities. He is a former Vice Chair of the Town of Wethersfield Economic Development Commission and the Wethersfield Board of Education.
